LBA Lesson 1 covered Scenes 1 & 2 of Act 1 of Shakespeare’s play a Midsummer Night’s Dream. I taught 2 students, one being my sister Isabella Chen (10 years old), and a recently immigrated Russian middle schooler, Matvey (14 years old). I presented the information to them in the form of a slideshow, with two tutorial videos and activities to enhance their understanding. Student participation was much better than I was expecting, with active answers and great effort in activities. For next class, consider upping the difficulty of passages chosen to read, as well as incorporating more difficult activities and analysis of such passages.
